Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a nice and relaxing long break and got to spend time with those you love. Let’s kick off the new year talking about a few winter transitional pieces that are closet classics. Fashion this time of year is so odd, while holiday plaid and NYE sparkle and shine have died down, true spring dressing feels so far away. I always use this month to take a long hard look at my closet and do some serious cleaning. In that process I also see what basics might need updating. Below are some of the everyday styles that I am excited about in the new year.

This holiday, our Instagram feeds were decked with celebrity family portraits and chic seasonal cards. Oh, what joy it was seeing the various coordinated outfits in red, white, shimmery silvers and golds! By the time New Year’s Eve rolled around, there were even more eye-catching looks to feast our eyes upon, so why thought why not ring in 2023 by compiling the best of them all! Here are the top celebrity Christmas and NYE looks that closed out 2022 in old-fashion holiday style:

For Christmas, the Kardashian-Jenner sisterhood got together wearing (mostly) red and white, with a hint of silver, nude and black lace. While Kim wore silver Versace and Kourtney wore Pre-Fall 2023 Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini styled by Dani Michelle to the family Christmas Eve party, Khloe arrived in custom Nicolas Jebran and Kris wore Pre-Fall 2019 Valentino. Meanwhile, Kylie stood out in a lacy Mugler

The year of 2022 promised double the fashion, double the events and double the glamor as the entire world returned to its pre-pandemic rhythm. The trend has been all about maximalism and fully executed looks, from the clothes to the hair and makeup alike, no matter the occasion big or small.

Willow Smith in Ambush at the iHeart Radio Awards

In March, Willow Smith slipped into all black everything for the iHeart Radio Awards. The full Ambush look, orchestrated by Chloe & Chenelle Delgadillo, featured a sweeping double-breasted coat, a leather miniskirt, leather thigh-high buckle platform boots, leather gloves and a spiked collar choker as the finishing touches. When it comes to suiting, Steve Harvey is the man. He’s an A-lister who’s come to be known for his sleek tailoring in an assortment of fabrics, patterns, and colors. This year Harvey put his range on display with streetwear, high-low dressing, and utilitarian looks.

Offset’s no stranger to a well-curated look. His taste is why he was selected to judge HBO’s streetwear competition series The Hype. He experiments with fit, often floating between suited looks, trendy oversize pieces, and texture. Sometimes even fusing all aesthetics for a look that’s nothing short

Celebrity style, fashion shows, lookbooks and campaigns would cease to exist without stylists. Stylists are the architects of the industry. Creating stories and trends with every look. We owe a lot to the individuals that never stopped playing dressing up.
